We know the farm operations keep you busy, so we make it as quick and easy for farmers as possible — we try to take less than 30 minutes of your time each month! Once we get you onboarded, we’ll have a few quick questions for you as we get your numbers reconciled each month. If you want to dig in deeper, we are available to review your numbers with you each month.
We start with an introductory call to get to know you and your farm business. We’ll then collect the data we need (e.g., existing financial records, tax returns, bank statements) and ask you follow-up questions as we get started. Depending on the complexity and the current state of your books, onboarding can be as quick as a week or as long as a couple of months. There is an onboarding fee for many farms; we will waive this fee if your books are already in good shape.
Yes! This is part of our onboarding process. Generally, we charge $150-500 per year of catch-up; we will give you an exact quote before we get started.
We are not CPAs. We will draft the forms (Schedule F and Form 4562) for our Essentials and Premium customers to make tax time easier, but we cannot file nor are we equipped to provide tax strategies. We cannot be held liable for income reported to the IRS.
